Last minute packing and planning

Li River FishermenWell this trip certainly snuck up on me. I have so many little things that I want to do before I go and I'm not sure I'll be able to do them all. I feel a bit anxious. I had a bit of help in planning from Liping, my friend's aunt. She gave me a pretty good idea for an itinerary and I'll do the rest of my planning on the go; on the plane perhaps.

The photo in this post is one of the photos that inspired me to go to China. It's a photo of Li River near Guilin. The river cuts through a number of limestone formations. In addition there are some pretty interesting fishermen, who train cormorants to catch fish. It's one of my planned destinations.

I fly out tomorrow!

That's a very cool photo. I think you should bring back some trained cormorants for the office. :)

Not sure I'd be able to get one on the plane. :-)

Hi Marko,dooste khoob(good)!
I watched your blog for your China Journey and found the scenery behind the Li river very attractive. The interesting fishing via the cormorants on the Li river is unique and is being shown on CBC TV every night as an advertisement show. But the poor cormorants are not paid by fishermen for catching fish.
Have a very nice and interesting journey and take care.
Be careful of yourself and see you at the end of April,
AARMAAN
