One of my lasting memories is not being able to converse, so making signs like a chicken to indicate food preferences and then getting a bowl of chicken feet - yuk!! Another amazing experience was having butter tea with a Monk at a Buddhist Monastery in the middle of what seemed like no where! This is what traveling is all about, these lasting unexpected memories. I'm envious. Lots of fun :-)Philnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8109784285766388854.post-30994532920652171782010-04-03T02:54:21.899-07:002010-04-03T02:54:21.899-07:00Aarmaan, I have heard this Mao saying. It sounds like a pretty interesting area though. I read a bit about it here:
http://www.drben.net/ChinaReport/NingXia_Province/Great_Wall_China-Chang_Cheng/Great_Wall_of_China-Ningxia-6-Guyuan.html

Phil, yeah the guidebook doesn't have much for Zhengzhou, however there are a lot interesting places surrounding it. The mountains near the Shaolin temple seem quite nice.Markohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04925308436067950982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8109784285766388854.post-68476768000935436362010-04-03T02:48:27.333-07:002010-04-03T02:48:27.333-07:00oh ya, and I vote Xi'an text...terracotta warr...oh ya, and I vote Xi'an text...terracotta warriors..got to see themMandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04179031625565501902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8109784285766388854.post-57869624691876260182010-04-03T02:47:51.612-07:002010-04-03T02:47:51.612-07:00Nice Marko...I was suppose to be there in 2008, an...Nice Marko...I was suppose to be there in 2008, and now I want to go even more! I'd go to Xian to look at the Terracotta Army & Mount Huashan but I think the decision will probably be based on when you can leave Beijing. Zhengzhou is more modern China so of less interest to me but Pingyao looks interesting - decisions decisions decisions, that's why I love travel :-)Philnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8109784285766388854.post-45577531129720365612010-04-02T17:53:54.889-07:002010-04-02T17:53:54.889-07:00Wow, amazing pictures, Marco!
